What Is Extra Stars at ace88?
There's something special about retro-style slots – the chime of coins, the gleam of fruit symbols, and the slow-spinning reels that hide the potential for a massive surprise win. That's the essence brought to life by Extra Stars at ace88 – a slot that blends the classic feel of a traditional fruit machine with the latest in gaming technology. For Malaysian players who grew up with fond memories of slot machines at shopping malls or amusement arcades, Extra Stars at ace88 will feel like a nostalgic reunion – only this time, with far bigger and more exciting MYR cash prizes up for grabs.
Extra Stars at ace88 runs on a 5-reel, 3-row grid with 40 fixed paylines, ensuring plenty of winning combinations every spin. The symbols are premium takes on classic slot icons – gleaming cherries, lemons, oranges, grapes, golden bells, diamonds, and of course the special stars that define the entire game. Every symbol is crafted with stunning graphics and eye-catching animations when landing in a winning combination, delivering a visual satisfaction that retro slots of old simply cannot match.
What truly sets Extra Stars apart from ordinary classic slots is the Hold & Win exclusive to ace88 – a modern mechanic triggered by a special Golden Star symbol. When this feature activates, you are awarded three free spins with all landed Golden Stars "locked" in place, while the remaining reels continue spinning to collect more stars. Each time a new star lands, the spin count resets to three – giving you more chances to fill the grid with high-value stars before your prize is calculated and paid out.
Hold & Win Mechanics – The Most Exciting Feature in Extra Stars at ace88
The Hold & Win feature in Extra Stars at ace88 is the core engine driving this game's big-win potential. To trigger it, you need to land at least six Golden Star symbols in a single spin. When that happens, the screen transitions into a dedicated Hold & Win mode – all reels clear except for the Golden Stars already landed, which remain locked in position, and you are awarded three free spins to begin.
In each Hold & Win spin, reels without a locked Golden Star will spin again. Each time a new Golden Star lands, it locks in place and the spin count resets to three – meaning as long as new stars keep landing, your Hold & Win session can continue for a very long time. The main goal is to fill as many grid positions as possible with Golden Stars before three consecutive spins pass without a new star landing.
Each Golden Star carries a cash value printed on it – ranging from 2x up to 500x your bet. When the Hold & Win session ends, all locked Golden Star values are totalled and paid out as a single win. If you manage to fill all 15 positions in the 5x3 grid with Golden Stars during a Hold & Win session, you'll receive ace88's exclusive Grand Jackpot worth up to RM50,000 – the biggest prize achievable in a single Extra Stars session!
Beyond the Hold & Win feature, Extra Stars at ace88 also offers Star Free Spins (Star Free Spins) triggered by landing three or more star-shaped Scatter symbols anywhere on the grid. You receive between 10 and 20 free spins depending on how many Scatters appear, and throughout the free spins session, the win multiplier increases progressively with each spin – making the final spins potentially far more rewarding than the first.

Extra Stars Tips & Strategies from Experienced ace88 Players
Seasoned Extra Stars players at ace88 shares some useful tips to help you get the most out of your gameplay. First, understand that Extra Stars is a medium-volatility game – meaning small to moderate wins occur fairly often, but bigger wins require a little patience. The best strategy is to play at a stake that lets you sustain at least 100 to 150 spins before your balance runs out – this gives you enough time to trigger the Hold & Win feature or Free Spins that deliver the bigger payouts.
Second, take advantage of the Bonus Buy feature available in Extra Stars at ace88 when you want to go straight into the Hold & Win experience without the wait. By paying a set premium from your balance, you can enter the Hold & Win phase directly without needing six Golden Stars to land naturally. This is ideal for players who are already familiar with the game mechanics and want to focus their playtime on the most exciting part of Extra Stars.
Third, use the Auto-Spin feature with sensible limit settings. Set a loss limit of 30% of your current balance before activating Auto-Spin – this ensures the game stops automatically if luck isn't on your side during a particular session, protecting the bulk of your balance for a better playing session the next day. Players who are disciplined about bankroll management consistently enjoy Extra Stars more in the long run compared to those who play without clear limits.
